Children's Liturgy of the Word

Bobbie Devany, Coordinator, 624-5827, ext 212

At Mass, the children are lead to the Multipurpose room to hear & discuss the readings for the day. Sometimes an older child may be asked to lead the first reading. The children then say together the responsorial Psalm. The adult leader reads the Gospel. The leader will then open the discussion with an explanation or questions to get the children thinking about what the reading meant and how it can apply to them and their daily lives. They end with a final prayer. They are then lead back to the church to prepare for Liturgy of the Eucharist.

CLW is not childcare. Remind your children that while at CLW, they are still “in church”.  Older siblings are welcome to come and help out with the younger children.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is held during all Sunday Masses, September through April with the exceptions of major holiday weekends. Registration is not required.

Adult volunteers are needed to lead and assist in this great and rewarding ministry for the children. Volunteers rotate once a month. No experience is required. Training and all materials are provided. If you can give about 30 minutes per month, please consider sharing your love of God with our younger parishioners.
