Dinner & Dialogue

Do you enjoy good food, good conversation regarding issues of faith, and perhaps a glass of wine? If so, you are invited to consider participating in our Dinner & Dialogue group.
Each Fall, parishioners are asked to consider joining a group. Once a couple or individual signs up, then he or she is assigned to a group. Typically, these groups meet on the 3rd Fridays of each month, with each participant or couple serving as host one night of the year. The meetings begin at 6:00 PM.
Host Responsibilities
Each month, the host is responsible for reminding the participants (via email) of the upcoming date, the location and directions, and what everyone is bringing. The email should be sent approximately one week in advance. The host will provide a simple entrée and soft drinks. Since the focus is on the discussion and comraderie of the group, elaborate menus are discouraged. If for some reason someone cannot attend, the host is responsible for either providing the missing meal item or asking someone to bring it. At the organizational meeting, we will determine who will serve as the facilitator.
Participant Responsibilities
Due to the nature of this group, we ask that you faithfully attend each gathering and bring your assigned food item. This makes it much easier for the host! We also ask that you do the assigned reading and reflecting before attending which will greatly enrich the dialogue! Also, each participant is asked to abide by the group sharing principles. Most of all, enjoy!
Materials
Each year at the organizational meeting, the groups determine what topic they will study and discuss. (Sometimes groups opt to use books, individual articles, or publications such as Catholic Update.) Each participant purchases his or her own material, which generally costs less than $25.
