Ministries

Where to sit in church if you are physically challenged:  There is a designated area on the baptismal side of the church in the front pew.  There are also accommodations made on the choir side of the church.  Please speak to an usher for assistance.

Nursery:  Childcare is available during all Sunday Masses in Room 1 (excluding major holidays).  This is a free service for all children ages 2 months to 3 years.  Adult and teen parishioners supervise care and provide a fun, safe, and loving environment for our youngest parishioners.  For parents who are worried about leaving their child, you can leave silent cell phone # with the childcare staff. Contact: Bobbie Devany, ext. 212.

Gift Bearers:  There is a coordinator at each Mass who seeks out individuals or families to bring up the offertory gifts.  If you or your family are interested in bringing up the gifts, please see the coordinator before Mass in back of church.

Ushers:  The usher ministry is a great way to serve the Church, fellow parishioners, and guest.  This ministry is open to men and women from high school age and up.   Ushering goes beyond seating the congregation, taking the collection and handing out bulletins.   Ushers are responsible for knowing the flow of the Mass, as well as identifying and solving situations as they occur.  These are easy tasks and are very much appreciated by Mass attendees.  Time commitment can be as little as one Mass per month to whatever you can offer as an assigned team member or substitute.  The training is easy.  Contact John Gloudeman.

Altar Servers:  Altar Servers are responsible young boys and girls who assist the priest at Mass.  Servers must be at least in the 5th grade.  Training sessions are held periodically throughout the year.  Contract Mike Bridge, 791-1875 or John Gloudeman.
Eucharistic Ministers: EM's are purveyors of God's love when sharing communion with His people.  To become a Eucharistic Minister, a training session is required, as well as a yearly renewal training and day of prayer.  Contact: Carol Behnken, 652-0619 or John Gloudeman.

Lectors: Lectors proclaim the Word of the Lord.  Two training sessions are required, and a yearly renewal training and prayer service.  Trainings are done throughout the year.  Contact: Bobbie Campbell, 663-2461 or John Gloudeman.

Church Environment:  This group is responsible for creating the physical environment as it changes with the liturgical seasons.  Creative individuals of all ages are invited to join this ministry.  Contact Gail Mohlenbrok, 663-4822 or John Gloudeman.

Music:  SS. Peter and Paul is recognized for its wonderful music and the participation of the congregation.  If you are interested in sharing your musical talents in helping each other know God's presence in our community, there are many opportunities throughout the year.  Singers and musicians are welcome at all the weekend Masses.
  • Children's Choir:  Children in grades 1 through 6 are invited to sing with our Children's Choir.  The Children's Choir sings for special occasions.   Contact John Gloudeman.
  • Youth Choir: Students in 7th grade through 12th grad (and adults) are welcome to join this choir.  They sing every Sunday at the 5:15 pm Mass.  Contact Greg Pfister, 632-2155

Parish Blood Bank (For all registered parishioners) - We always have blood available thanks to those of you who give so often.  If you have a need for blood, please call Bill Ross, to have as much as needed released from our blood bank.

Blood donations are especially needed during this time of year, so, if you can give, please do so.  Please call Bill for the nearest location to donate or for any questions you might have.  Be sure to say your donation is for SS. Peter & Paul Blood Bank #7355.

Children's Liturgy of the Word - Childrens Liturgy of the Word (CLW), open to children in 1st  6th grade, is held during the 10:00 am 5:15 pm Masses.   Children are led out of Mass to the Multipurpose Room.  During CLW they are able to participate in and discuss the scripture readings that have been adapted so that they can more easily understand the Word of God.  Children are then led back into Mass to rejoin their families.  CLW runs from September to April (with the exception of rainy weather or holiday weekends).  All children are welcome.  Registration is not required.

Adult volunteers lead  & assist with CLW.  If you have 30 minutes to spare (approximately once a month) please consider sharing your love of God with the children of our parish.  No experience is necessary, training and materials are provided. Contact Bobbie Devany, 624-5827, ext 212.
