Preschool/Kindergarten

Bobbie Devany, Coordinator, 624-5827, ext 212

Preschool & Kindergarten classes are offered at the 8:30, 10:00 & 5:15 Sunday Masses, and are open to all 3 year olds thru entering Kindergarteners. The programs are designed to support parents in educating their children about the Catholic faith and to create a strong foundation for future religious education.  They help children develop a positive attitude about themselves by discovering the many gifts and abilities that God has provided them.  They also help children develop their relationship with Jesus, become aware of liturgical seasons, and cultivate Christian attitudes such as listening, helping, caring, loving, sharing, thanking and celebrating.

Children participating in the classes should be brought to their assigned class approximately 10 minutes prior to Mass.  An arrival activity keeps them busy while the teacher welcomes newly arriving classmates.  They then gather in a circle to hear the story/lesson for the day.  The lesson may be followed by crafts and music.   Over the last few years the children have had an opportunity to participate in the following events:

·         Visit from Santa

·         Lenten Baby Bottle Service Project

·         Singing to the Parish at Mass

Volunteers who make a weekly or biweekly commitment lead the classes.  Lead Catechist’s, Co-Catechist’s and Aides are always needed.

Classes run September thru April. Registration is required. Snacks are no longer provide/offered.

Registration Forms

In order to maintain an appropriate adult/child ratio in every class, a parent, (who has not signed up to teach or aide), from each family will be required to volunteer in the classroom three sessions as an aide. You will be assigned three dates following registration.

Please consider donating your time, even if you do not have a child in the program!   No experience is necessary, training and materials are provided.
